Seeking Nominations for the Cook Awards

The Cook Awards Committee and the Vice Provost for Diversity and Faculty Development are seeking nominations for the 15th Annual Cook Awards. The Cook Awards honor individuals for their commitment to women's issues and for improving the climate for women at Cornell. The awards are named in honor of Constance E. Cook, Cornell's first woman vice president, and the late Professor Emerita Alice H. Cook, founding member of ACSW.

We welcome nominations for any deserving member of the Cornell community. Women and men students, faculty, and staff may receive awards. The Cook Awards committee will review all nominations and choose the final individuals to be recognized at a reception in April.

Nomination letters should describe the individual's commitment to women's issues and efforts to enhance the climate for women at Cornell. Please include the nominee's Cornell affiliation, email, and local address. Nominations may be submitted by email to Patty Stark at pas4@cornell.edu or mailed to Patty Stark, Office of the Vice Provost for Diversity and Faculty Development, 449 Day Hall.

The deadline for nominations is March 31, 2008.
